"The Maid in the Cherry Tree", in Gaelic "An Aindear Annsa Crann Siris",
also known as "The Gardener's Daughter", "The Grand Gates of Annesbrook" or
"Paddy Killoran's" is an Irish reel in A Mixolydian (O'Neill) or A Dorian
(Taylor). The parts are played AAB (O'Neill) or AABB (Taylor).
The tune is also printed by O'Neill as "Curragh Races" and a version
appears in Roche as "The Humors of Old Knockaney".
"Paddy Lynn's Delight" and the Scottish tune
"The Highland Man that Kissed His Grannie"
are related.
It was printed Krassen's O'Neill's Music of Ireland (1976),
O'Neill's Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies (1903) and
Dance Music of Ireland: 1001 Gems (1907),
Taylor's Where's the Crack? (1989) and
Mallinson's Music for the Sets: Yellow Book (1995).
